As President Trump leaves office, many on the left are calling attention to his signing of executive orders in his final days. The left’s frenzy would lead one to believe the President’s actions are without precedent.
However, the President’s actions are neither unprecedented nor rare. In 2017, Barack Obama signed 7 executive orders in his final days. In 2009, President Bush signed 5 executive orders in his way out of the White House. And, in 2001, President Clinton signed 12 executive orders before he turned the White House over to a new administration.
The Office of the Federal Register maintains a chronological list of presidential executive orders.
